Contemplate:

During this live episode of Nnanight, we'll be discussing the impact of Parisian life on Black, femme identity. In preparation for our evening together, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Who am I and from where does that identity come?

  • What part of my identity am I choosing?

  • What influences on my process of identity formation have I chosen?

  • If I can truly choose my own identity, is there anything I might change?

  • Who am I when I'm in Paris?

  • If I've ever lived elsewhere, who was I there?

  • What does my Blackness mean while living in Paris?

  • If I've ever lived elsewhere, what did my Blackness mean there?

  • What does my femininity mean while living in Paris?

  • If I've ever lived elsewhere, what did my Blackness mean there?

  • What do I choose when I choose to live in Paris?

  • Why am I making that choice?

  • What might be an alternative to that choice?

  • Under what circumstances might I make the alternative choice?

  • To whom do I choose to be in proximity when I choose to live in Paris?

  • Why am I making that choice?

  • What might be an alternative to that choice?

  • Under what circumstances might I make the alternative choice?
